A large % of these quick strut's do not come from the factory torqued to the correct specs.I got a set and then had to go thru the hassel of uninstalling and reinstalling a new set as well as shipping/receiving. The techs from monroe are not very helpful other then telling me to mail in the old set back.I would suggest just buing the strut cartridge itself, not this quick assembply. Places like autozone will loan you for free the spring compresser you need to change out.See all 1 customer reviews... I had purchased 2 of these for my wife's car,and couldn't believe the difference in the ride and the handling and stability! This is the way to go when replacing struts. Buy these loaded struts,so you know that everything is new. Do not just replace only the struts. Most mechanics would recommend the same. I installed these front quick strut assemblies on a 2001 PT Cruiser. Easy to install, about 30 minutes per side. Jack the car up, take off the wheel, pop the hood, take off the two bolts at the steering knuckle, loosen the three nuts at the top of the mount, take off strut. Put new strut in and reverse the above procedure for install.The ride is nice and smooth now and it absorbs bumps in the road well. I got them for $310 total thanks to the free shipping for trying the Amazon Prime service. For my application (2000 Pontiac Grand Prix), installation was a breeze. Jacked up the car, removed one tire, 3 nuts to remove from top end and 2 on bottom end and then put them back in and replaced tire.
